CECOPAC Signs Memorandum of Understanding With The ICT for Peace Foundation (ICT4Peace)

March 08, 2010

Having clarified the need to strengthen support for current and future UN Peacekeeping Operations, as well as Global conflict resolution, The Chilean Joint Peacekeeping Operations Centre, in our enthusiasm to help train staff to carry out Peace Support Operations, is pleased to inform the CECOPAC community that our Institute together with The ICT4Peace Foundation (Geneva), have signed a memorandum of understanding on 18 February.

ICT4Peace aims to improve the performance of the international community in regard to crisis management, through the application of communications technologies, in order to be able to provide an effective and sustained information flow between peoples, communities and parties involved in work relating to a crisis, humanitarian aid or in consolidating peace processes.

The memorandum will provide the framework for technical cooperation between both parties, thereby gaining a better understanding of the development of tools to improve the quality of taching programs for specialized mission participants, particularly when they have a Multi-Agency character or carry a broad range of actors involved in the management of the humanitarian crisis.

Finally, it should be noted that CECOPAC, in its constant desire to improve its tools and techniques for the training of its pupils and always with the goal of providing academic excellence to all who pass through the halls of our establishment has signed many cooperation agreements that comply with these aims, this partnership therefore, reaffirms the aspirations of our Institute by continuing to enhance its academic excellence.
