Ending Ceremony of the
“Senior Leaders” International Seminar

On the occasion of
the end of the "Senior Leader" Seminar , last
Friday 04 of May was carried out at the Chilean Joint
Peacekeeping Operations Centre (CECOPAC) the ending
ceremony and the accreditation of the participants,
presided by Colonel Valentín Segura Flores, representative
of the Direction of International Operations of the
Joint General Staff.
The objective of
the course, to which assisted 31 representatives of
eighteen countries of the hemisphere, was to provide
basic theoretical knowledge to work as an Officer member
of the Staff of a Multinational force in a PKO; understanding
the organization and work of a headquarter at the mission
area.
To achieve the previous,
national and foreign professors were invited, expert
in subjects relative to the organization and work of
a Peacekeeping Operation, mandate, rules of engagement,
gender, civilian protection and civilian-military relations,
among others.
During the course
of the ceremony, the diplomas that certify the participation
of the assistants were handed over, granted by the Director
of the CECOPAC, Commander Marine Claudio Zanetti Muñoz,
together with the Head of the Teaching Department, Major
José Miguel Carrera Calderón.
Finally, as a way
of testifying and to thank the cooperation for the development
and good conclusion of the seminar, a present was given
to Major Amilton Barbosa (Brazil), Lieutenant Colonel
Jason King (Canada), Mr. Ted Itani (Pearson Centre),
Major Cristian Jacques and Thumas Simon (EE.UU) and
Lieutenant Colonel Carlos Rombys Estéves (Uruguay);
highlighting in this way the level of knowledge, professionalism
and integrity shown by the exhibitors.
